Young people aged 16–19 in Kinship Carer arrangements may be entitled to the Government funded bursary scheme and some universities may offer Care Leavers accommodation support schemes. Carers would need to contact relevant university institutions to understand what options might be available to them and the young people they care for. Priority schools' admissions are available for those children who have been cared for but who are now living with their family under a Child Arrangements Order, Special Guardianship Order or Adoption Order. Warwickshire Virtual School offers guidance and information to Kinship Carers with children under Special Guardianship and Child Arrangements Orders. The Virtual School will help carers navigate the education system and advocate effectively for their Young People, providing both simple answers and in-depth consultations.
